Job Purpose

Essential responsibilities around the following core areas: Rights Sales, Book & Journals Special Sales, Content Licensing, Advertising Sales, and Partnership Management

Principal Accountabilities

  • Work alongside the VP Business Development to implement strategies for success across the team.
  • Responsible for the management, development and success of the Manila based BD team, and communication across the global BD operation.
  • Take a managerial and direct responsibility for supporting global rights and special sales revenue streams. Prioritizing workload for the Manila based team, and taking personal responsibility for larger, high-impact deals.
  • Act as a mentor and leader to the Manila based BD team. Arranging training and onboarding within the team as new members join, and developing internal team communication strategies, as well as participating in external communications to as necessary.
  • Onboard and manage the new Manila based BD team toward operational excellence across a variety of administrative and core business processes. Liaise with stakeholders within a variety of business streams that -
  • Work closely with the VP Business Development, Head of Business Development and Head of Rights Sales to implement and maintain the annual strategic plan, annual budgetary spend, and providing contribution to monthly reporting

Knowledge and Experience

  • 5 years team management experience, with at least 1 year in a market facing sales or customer service role.
  • College degree recommended
  • Excellent with Microsoft suite of products including Excel, Word, Outlook, Power Point and SharePoint.
  • Experience with systems such as SAP, SalesForce and FileMaker useful.
  • Good communication skills and ability to demonstrate initiative.
  • Generally good systems and technical knowledge
  • Organisational skills and accuracy. Ability to stay focused and prioritise workload.
