We are recruiting for a passionate Content System Java Developer who will be part of our Content Services Team in Manila The Manila hub is located in Makati City, operating to support the university's global operations.

You will often deal with the infrastructure design and programming, research, and development of the content management systems.

Other key responsibilities will include:

  • Keeps the quality of code by adhering to coding standards and maintains product quality in its integrated level of the development
  • Work on an agile development environment with continuous integration process, unit testing and code peer reviews
  • Planning, processing, and efficiently performing work even without assistance from the team lead
  • Communicates clearly and effectively with colleagues in IT team and other internal teams, as well as non-technical users

What are the qualifications?

The ideal candidate should have a strong background on object oriented programming and solid software development experience with an aptitude for testing, leadership skills, and community building by participating in COPs/guilds and external software test/developer communities.

In addition, experience, knowledge or expertise in the following are an advantage:

  • At least 5 years of experience with Java, core java back-end/multi-threaded applications development, and strong knowledge in Java (8/11)
  • Experience in J2EE, Javascript, Eclipse and Plug-in/IDE development, HTML, AJAX, MVC Framework, Web technologies and RDBM concepts, Content Management Systems (CMS) software is an asset, such as OpenText Documentum / Alfresco
  • Experience in SVN, Git, Docker, Jenkins, Linux, Ant script and Tomcat, Agile software delivery CD / Continuous Delivery
  • Knowledge in SQL, PL/SQL or NoSQL, micro services architecture, understanding of containers and serverless implementation, unit testing frameworks strategies and implementation
  • 1 year AWS essentials, Unix experience, XML & XSLT
