    • To establish the Cambridge University Press & Assessment Brand as the most preferred, reliable and credible brand amongst learners, institutions authors, influencers, teachers, educators, policy makers and governments to drive learning outcomes.
    • To reposition Cambridge University Press & Assessment as an organisation that has the rich legacy and expertise in publishing with a digital and future ready learning and teaching approach.
    • To create a multi-dimensional Communications and PR strategy that leverages traditional and digital / online channels to take the Cambridge University Press & Assessment's proposition to its constituents.
  • Enabling Growth & Share
    • To accelerate Cambridge South Asia's mission of doubling its growth and share through both Print and Digital Products through a well-crafted marketing strategy.
    • To strategize, own and execute a digital marketing strategy to acquire consumers for Digital Products and follow up with a consumer engagement plan to manage learning lifecycles across learner keystages.
    • To help generate revenue by increasing sales through successful marketing for entire organization
  • Segment Marketing Strategy
    • To lead a team of segment Marketing Business Partners having direct and/or dotted line reporting to achieve growth, share and brand outcomes/ goals.
    • To understand the different needs and realities of our customers, markets and segments and accordingly plan, develop, implement, and monitor the overall business marketing strategy
    • To align the marketing organization around customer centricity, Utilize data analytics and insights to deliver superior and personalised customer experiences and measurable business results
    • To develop marketing capabilities (e.g. technology, digital expertise, customer data and insights, data analytics) to enable the organization to succeed and compete in the future



Strategy & Business Planning


  • Develop and implement the corporate marketing and branding strategy for the region which given brand a competitive advantage
  • As a member of the South Asia Leadership team, contribute to the development and delivery of the regional vision and strategy
  • Understanding and tracking customer trends to provide insights for key decisions through a detailed market research and customer data analysis



  • Developing detailed annual budgets for marketing function based on the long term strategy and the requirements from verticals and track performance against set budget on periodic basis
  • Optimize the budget utilization for maximum ROI




  • Designing, planning and executing consistent communication across all PR events, forums, branding and positioning programs aimed at different stakeholders (employees, investors, customers, bureaucrats, public, regulators etc.) to augment the business growth
  • Reviewing & monitoring brand communication mix, media selection (website digital & print media) and PR activities, forums based on product/solutions and customer profile
  • Ensuring adequate marketing and communication (collaterals, case studies, videos, presentations etc.) support to the operations for augmenting brand and thus business growth
  • Leveraging and implementing new age marketing channels to improve marketing return (such as digital marketing, marketing analytics, etc.)
  • Implementing initiatives and campaigns to strengthen brand recall against market comparators based on understanding of customer trends
  • Optimizing the costs of Branding & Marketing activities while ensuring the desired impact
  • To create strong platforms and channels to manage and engage communities from different segments and audiences.



  • Provide visible, strong and inspiring leadership focused on the delivery Marketing strategy.
  • Create and line manage a high performing team of marketing professional across various areas marketing: recruitment, induction, performance management, learning and development, talent management, career planning, succession and exit.
  • Create a team environment and conditions that allow for effective delegation, empowerment and the delivery of results through others.
  • Lead a team to ensure effective collaboration, joint working and decision making across Marketing team

Educated to degree level: MBA or PGDBM from reputed institute

Industry exposure: 18-20 years of experience in marketing function

Education /Learning industry knowledge and experience

Demonstrable experience in creating and implementing successful marketing strategy/plan in a complex business setting

Knowledge and experience of using various marketing tools, analytics deliver an excellent customer experience

Experience in resolving daily internal and external problems and challenges in marketing positions that affect success of various marketing activities.

Diverse experience in marketing function of various segment i.e. B2B, B2C, B2B2C, B2G




First class leadership & interpersonal skills to lead a marketing team, to inspire collaboration and to empower the team, and to influence stakeholders across the end to end value chain


Strategic thinking to contribute to the development of the regional marketing strategy and plan.
