We are recruiting for a passionate Junior Software Engineer who will be part of our Academic Technology Team in Manila The Manila hub is located in Makati City, operating to support the university's global operations.

Junior Software engineer's main role is to help develop and maintain software applications by studying business operations and work closely with other Software engineers for the functional and technical requirements of the application. The Junior Software engineer will work on agile development environment with continuous integration process, unit testing and peer reviews. The position also coordinates with Product Owners, QAs, Leads and correct software defects. Other duties include creating customer software manuals and project documentation.

Other key responsibilities will include:

  • To carry out any other duties which may be reasonably expected of you by your immediate manager or a senior director.
  • Keeps the quality of code by adhering to Coding Standards

What are the qualifications?

We are looking for applicants that are willing to learn and hungry to advance their development skills.

In addition, experience, knowledge or expertise in the following are an advantage:

  • 1 year server side JavaScript Framework development (ie, Node JS), Express, Bootstrap, Vue.js
  • No Sql experience, ideally with MongoDb
  • Database experience, Mysql, Oracle
  • Knows tools including Git
  • 1 year HTML, css, JavaScript
  • At least 1 certification on related technical field
