We are recruiting for a passionate Quality Engineering (Automation) Team Lead who will be part of our English Technology Team.  The role will play a key part in delivering the technical leadership and strategic direction of English Automation Team.

What will you do in this role?

You will drive quality, advocate defect prevention/early defect detection, design & develop test suites, framework component and tools that are needed to perform software testing. You maximize test coverage, advocate the peer/exploratory testing and use of business & risk analysis techniques to optimize testing activities. You will head the technical test effort and identify, build, maintain and execute test scripts to ensure standard and coverage for use, integration, regression, and end to end performance. You will play a key role in finding innovations in tools to increase testing effectiveness.

Your other key responsibilities include:

  • Develop automation framework guidelines, security, coding standards and drive consistent testing best practices across teams
  • Develop and code medium to complex integration tests and work on central test infrastructure and assist software developers with specific unit - testing issues
  • Investigate new technologies and tools, assess the use in the current automation framework
  • Integrate test automations with CI/CD process; implement build pipelines (AWS/Jenkins/Azure DevOps)
  • Review code created by QA Automation Engineers to ensure compliance; mentor and train QA Automation Engineers and will handle 1-3 direct reports

What are the qualifications?

The ideal candidate should have solid software development experience with an aptitude for testing, leadership skills and a community builder through taking part in COPs/guilds and external software test/developer communities.

In addition, experience, knowledge or expertise in the following are an advantage:

  • With at least 10 years in software development, of which around 5 years are in Quality Engineering experience using one or more of the following programming languages: C#, Java, JavaScript, .Net, Python,
  • Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Computer Engineer or equal. Master degree in Computer Science or equivalent is a plus.
  • Experience in an array of test frameworks/tools (Ready API, Selenium, Cypress, Serenity, Cucumber, JS Framework) and scripting languages (e.g., JS, Python, Java),
  • Experience in white box testing and cloud-based apps using Microsoft Azure or Amazon Web Services preferred (with more emphasis on Security), experience with Performance Testing using Jmeter or equal
  • Experience in API Testing (SoapUI, Postman) and web applications (covering one or more of the following techs: Angular, React, Vue, Bootstrap, HTML5, CSS, ASP.NET,)

Nice to have:

  • Certifications: Advance ISTQB Technical Tester/Analyst/Automation, Cloud Computing , Agile Certification like PSM, PSPO, PSD from Alliance/ICAgile
  • Design Thinking and Systems Thinking knowledge, Test Automation portfolio, Data Analysis/ Data Science, PowerBI exposure
