We are recruiting for a Scrum Mastewho will be part of our Manila Academic Platform Delivery team.  This team is responsible for guiding and coaching the different Academic software development teams in having the proper Agile mindset and in doing Scrum and Kanban effectively.

This role will provide you with meaningful challenges on effectively coaching and supporting agile software development team(s). You will be an active Scrum Master providing support to assigned Scrum development team(s), with a focus on facilitating delivery, building team togetherness and the ability to self-manage. This role will require you coordinate with other teams across the Academic Technology group to address dependencies and clear impediments. You are expected be able to communicate effectively with people from all levels of the organization.

What will you do in this role?

The Scrum Master will:

  • Support Scrum Team(s) using a servant leadership style, facilitating team discussion, decision making, and conflict resolution. You will guide and coach the Scrum Team(s) on how to get the most out of self-management and how to properly apply the Agile values and Scrum/Kanban practices in our mission to delight customers.
  • Actively monitor and tackle impediments and blockers to the Scrum Team(s).
  • Support and educate the Product Owner(s), especially with respect to product goal definition, ticket refinement and managing the product backlog.
  • Be an Agile evangelist, leading by example and actively sharing knowledge of effective development practices to the Scrum Team(s), relevant members of staff and the wider organization.
  • Work closely with the Product Owner to communicate regular updates to management, project team(s) and stakeholders, articulating current progress and plans for the next cycles, highlighting successes and raising high priority concerns that need immediate management support.

What makes you the ideal candidate for this position?

We are looking for someone with a strong understanding of Agile, Scrum and Kanban, backed up with actual Scrum Master experience:

  • At least 3 years of actual Scrum Master experience
  • Highly proficient in JIRA, Confluence, Slack, MS Office, MS Teams or similar tools.
  • Experience of software application development and delivery (web application development preferred).
  • Collaborative, goal-oriented, solution-focused, thrives under pressure.
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills in both English and Tagalog.
  • Agile certification preferred (PSM or other).
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent desirable.
