Senior Digital Product Owner (English)

12 month fixed-term contract

£41,000 - £48,600 p.a. if UK based

About the role:

We are looking for a motivated and decisive Senior Digital Product Owner to play a leading role in the development of our learning platforms, services and data capabilities, which will become a key feature of our new digital products, platforms and services for English language teachers and learners around the world.

The Senior Digital Product Owner is likely to have oversight of one or more of the following areas, with scope to evolve the role into new areas as priorities change:

  • developing new digital capabilities within our learning platforms to enable key aspects of the digital teaching, learning and assessment experience within school and home contexts.
  • developing new digital capabilities for on-boarding students, teachers and institutions and managing learning at the institutional level, including product entitlements and new business models for the provision of learning and assessment services.
  • breaking new ground by leading the team that develops state of the art AI engine to help people learn English and prove their skills to the world, by creating a complex representation of language learners. This learner representation will drive the creation of learner profiles and will be used to personalise learning through recommendations made to learners and their teachers.
  • leading the requirements for data capture and data features in our platforms to drive insights about learning, for defining data storage in connected data lakes, for flexible BI and analytics tools to help product teams to develop future content based on data insights, and for establishing sound and flexible data governance frameworks.
  • exploring new opportunities available through machine learning technologies.

This role will be particularly focused on all aspects of formative testing and assessment in language learning and knowledge/previous experience in this area is desirable.

You will play the Product Owner role in a scrum team of data scientists, lead experts in English language learning and assessment, developers, testers and others and will collaborate closely with other colleagues to determine how the digital capabilities can best enable learner needs and be embedded in a range of emerging products and services. These include Engineers, UX designers and Product Management colleagues to clarify needs, understand options, and define requirements through the product lifecycle.

You will work closely with stakeholders and user data to identify, prioritise and refine requirements. You will work alongside other Digital Product Owners, understanding dependencies and contributing to building a vision for the Cambridge-wide digital ecosystem.

This  position could be based in Cambridge or Madrid.
