We are recruiting for a Software Engineer who will be part of our Ecommerce Shared Services Team in Manila.  The role will play an essential part in the development of Cambridge Orders and Konakart. Our developers work closely with software engineering teams to build full-stack JavaScript solutions for platforms used by shopfronts/Cambridge websites.

In this role, you will be focusing on creating full-stack JavaScript solutions for our Cambridge platforms, with particular focus on being able to continuously deliver secure, scalable, reusable and lovable solutions.

Other key responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and maintaining feature-rich web services and applications with JavaScript.
  • Collaborate with the Team Lead, Solutions Team, and other Software Engineers to understand the strategy and architecture of the platforms.
  • Work with design, UX, Architects, other Development Teams, QA and Business stakeholders
  • Create, support and maintain Web Services and REST APIs.
  • Own your learning and development that will contribute to the improvement of the technology team.
  • Keeps the quality of code by adhering to Coding Standards

What makes you the ideal candidate for this position?

The ideal candidate should have at least 1 to 3 years of experience in full-stack JavaScript development and a strong background in developing, managing and maintaining different web applications. 

You will be the ideal candidate if you enjoy working in a fast-based environment and being able to work with different stakeholders in a problem-solving capacity.

In addition, knowledge or expertise in the following are an advantage.

  • Educated to degree level in a relevant IT/Software related degree.
  • 1-3+ years of software development expertise within an area of web technologies. Current Press technology sets include: Java, PHP, Rest, SOAP, Xml JQuery, and Apache.
  • Proficiency with fundamental front end languages such as HTML, CSS and JavaScript.
  • Familiarity with JavaScript frameworks such as Angular JS, Node.JS and Vue.JS.
  • Experience of data manipulation, tuning, and performance work across a range of industry databases including: Oracle, MySQL, MongoDB.
  • To be comfortable with using industry standard tools and practices in the Software Development including SVN and GIT source code control systems.
  • Experience of working within an Agile development process (Scrum or similar).
  • Strong written and oral communication skills with the ability to communicate, with colleagues of all levels across the Press.
  • Able to supervise junior software engineers on day to day tasks, supporting their development and taking responsibility for their deliverables.
  • Solid solution design, analysis and documentation skills plus experience of Web infrastructure and related technology areas and modern day “DevOps” engineering practices and processes.
