Are you flexible in the face of emerging and changing requirements?
Do you thrive working at the heart of change and growth?
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a proactive and entrepreneurial Strategy Manager to support the senior leadership team at Cambridge Assessment to develop and deliver strategy on a 12-month fixed term contract. The Strategy Manager will provide insight, analysis and challenge, to help us meet our organisational goals.
Reporting to the Strategy Director and partnering with senior leaders, the Strategy Manager's tasks are highly varied, with collaboration at the heart of everything you do. From reviewing potential strategic investments and partnerships, to leading on discrete strategy projects, you will have great exposure, working widely throughout the organisation at all levels and across all colleagues.
This is an exciting time to join the strategy team supporting a relatively new leadership team. You will have the opportunity to influence how we deliver on our goals to be the trusted experts in assessment and learning.
Focussing on the English product area, you will be a critical partner to the senior leadership team in strategy development and implementation. Leading the product group through the strategic planning process in collaboration with the finance team, you will develop and facilitate sessions on strategy for senior leadership teams and more broadly across the organisation.
You will present your ideas to our boards and be expected to discuss and respond to questions on your analysis and ideas. You will be involved in critical projects for the organisation which will put your strong analytical skills to good use. Your formal strategy training will be needed during market reviews, and your strong research skills for completion of competitor analysis. You will have great influence over senior level colleagues and be confident managing high pressure situations.
Identifying corporate development opportunities, you will undertake and coordinate due diligence, supporting key relationships across our new organisation on a global scale. As well as supporting the Strategy Director in managing strategy communication and advising colleagues on strategy, you will lead on ad-hoc, cross-Cambridge strategy projects.
Whilst being highly analytical and numerate with financial modelling skills, you will have a demonstrated partnership approach and be comfortable working closely with senior stakeholders. The ability to facilitate and provide advice and feedback to leaders comes naturally to you, built from your strong consulting skills, together with the ability to persuade and influence a variety of stakeholders effectively. You will have strong time management skills and the flexibility and independence to manage multiple competing priorities. Networking comes instinctively to you, due to your excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Your background will show demonstrable experience in strategy and strategic investments. You will have worked with senior leaders either as a strategy consultant or in a strategy function. Market research experience will make you successful in this role.
Developing a high level of commitment to the Cambridge University Press and Assessment ethos is essential in this role, and you will share our values and main goal. You will be adaptable to change as well as action-oriented, versatile, and efficient.
In addition to a competitive salary, we offer a comprehensive package of benefits to help with your life both inside and outside of work:
