Job Title: Assessment Processing Administrator

Salary: £24,900 - £28,650

Location: Coventry/Cambridge, UK

Contract: Permanent - four positions (one has specific requirements in bold text detailed in ‘About the Role')

Hours: Full-time, 35 hours per week

We are Cambridge University Press & Assessment, a world-leading academic publisher and assessment organisation and a proud part of the University of Cambridge.

This is an exciting opportunity to join the combined UK and International operations as an Administrator in Assessment Processing. You'll help deliver key operational activities across multiple exam series, supporting the smooth and reliable release of results worldwide. Working across teams, you'll complete essential administrative tasks, uphold quality standards, and contribute to improvements in how we work. During peak periods, you may also take on additional responsibilities to support the wider team.

About the Role

The Assessment Processing Administrator role focuses on carrying out day-to-day processing tasks in line with agreed procedures, monitoring your progress against schedules, and reporting issues when they arise. You'll help review and update process documentation, respond to queries from internal and external stakeholders, and support temporary staff during busy periods. Flexibility is key, as you'll also contribute to wider departmental needs as required.

This position has been classified as a hybrid role, requiring the selected candidate to typically spend 40-60% (2-3 days a week) of their time collaborating and connecting face-to-face at their dedicated location. Aside from our hybrid principles, other flexible working requests will be considered from the first day of employment, including other work arrangements should you require adjustments due to a disability or long-term health condition.

Please note, 1 of the administrative positions will be based on site at DC10 (Whittlesford) 5 days per week during the live series, for approximately 7 months of the year.

About You
To be successful in this role, you will be a collaborative and conscientious team player who is also confident working independently. You will enjoy building positive working relationships across Assessment Processing, as well as wider operational and assessment teams. You take pride in producing accurate work, following procedures carefully, and delivering to agreed standards and deadlines.

Whilst each team's activities vary, Administrators in Assessment Processing typically rely on the following skills and attributes:

  • Strong organisational skills, able to prioritise workload and meet scheduled deadlines and KPIs
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Reliable, pragmatic and professional, with a positive approach to working with others
  • Clear and confident communicator, able to report issues and respond to queries effectively
  • Awareness of data security and confidentiality requirements
  • High attention to detail, ensuring accuracy when processing information and following instructions
  • Flexible and adaptable, particularly during peak periods when additional responsibilities may be required
