We are looking for a Security and Compliance Team Lead who will be responsible for ensuring that all English-learning digital platforms are secure, compliant, accessible, and legally robust for global distribution. In this senior role, you will provide joint leadership across platform security architecture and digital-product compliance, covering cloud security, data protection, accessibility legislation, consumer-facing digital regulations, and operational governance. 

You will work across Product, Engineering, UX, Legal, Security, and Central Technology teams to embed secure-by-design, privacy-by-design, and accessibility-by-default principles into the entire product lifecycle. This includes defining strategy, overseeing risk frameworks, guiding engineering, and ensuring compliance obligations are met for all commercial markets.

What will you do as the Platform Security & Compliance Team Lead?

Compliance Leadership 

  • Lead accessibility, privacy, and digital-product compliance across all platforms. 
  • Ensure adherence to global regulations (WCAG, ADA, EAA 2025, GDPR, CCPA, etc.). 
  • Oversee compliance documentation, cookie governance, licensed assets, branding, and UI/UX accessibility. 
  • Embed compliance frameworks and training across product, engineering, UX, and content teams. 

Security Architecture & Platform Protection 

  • Own cloud and platform-security strategy, delivering scalable and AWS-aligned security architecture. 
  • Maintain zero-trust principles across services, APIs, and pipelines. 
  • Lead security monitoring, detection automation, penetration tests, and remediation efforts. 
  • Mentor a small security engineering team and act as primary liaison with Central Technology. 

Digital Product Governance 

  • Ensure all releases meet security, privacy, and accessibility requirements within CI/CD pipelines. 
  • Govern UI, API, and feature compliance, secure coding, and cloud-security standards. 
  • Oversee CDN strategy and manage secure, compliant third-party integrations. 

Unified Risk & Reporting 

  • Maintain the unified risk register for security, privacy, and accessibility. 
  • Perform structured risk assessments and apply industry frameworks (NIST, ISO 27001, CIS Controls). 
  • Provide clear risk reporting to senior leadership and support incident investigations.
