Job Title: Climate Education Resource Design Intern

Payment: £22,222 per annum (prorated for your 8-week internship, non-negotiable)

Location: Cambridge/Hybrid (2 days per week minimum)   

Contract: Full Time (35 hours per week) / Fixed Term (8 weeks)
Placement dates: 14^th July – 5^th September 2025

About the role

At Cambridge Mathematics, we want to help students develop the mathematical skills and sensibilities to be responsible and empowered citizens in a time shaped by climate change. We are examining a variety of available resources involving mathematical modelling which could be incorporated into climate education initiatives and also looking for gaps where we might want to adapt or develop something new.

As part of this role, you will:

• Search online by various means for activities and resources involving mathematical modelling currently used to enhance climate education
• Add these resources to a database with your ideas of how they may relate to several criteria for likely success in climate education
• Work with a researcher on our team to identify topics for which we might want to develop new resources
• Briefly outline some learning design basics to propose for potential new resources
• Learn about background research and collaborative learning design processes for educational resources

About you

You will be enthusiastic about education and designing engaging resources for students and teachers to use in classrooms. The ideal candidate will have some interest in and ideas about the aims of climate education.

To be successful in this role, the following skills, values and behaviours are desirable:

• Collaborative: Good communication skills and willingness to develop ideas in a group setting
• Organised: Able to apply a systematic approach to tasks
• Conscientious: Attentive to detail and able to read and interpret text with consistent care
