We are looking for a Cloud FinOps Engineer to join our Hosting Operations team. As a key member of our team, Your goal is to drive AWS cloud optimization within our FinOps framework and culture. This role focuses on maximizing cloud efficiency by automating cost controls, enforcing tagging compliance, and managing instance reservations and savings plans. You will collaborate with product teams to implement best practices and provide data-driven insights to senior management, ensuring informed decision-making and cost transparency.

 

Implement cost optimization activities as part of our Cloud FinOps framework and culture.

What will you do as a Cloud FinOps Engineer?

 

 As a Cloud FinOps Engineer, you will manage multiple AWS accounts and collaborate with Infrastructure Engineers, DevOps, SREs, and Service Delivery Managers within a hub-and-spoke FinOps model. Your role involves providing AWS updates, identifying cost-saving opportunities, and recommending optimization strategies to stakeholders, ensuring maximum value from cloud investments.

 

Your responsibilities will include:

 

  • AWS Cost Optimization & Management
    • Monitor and analyze cloud spending across multiple AWS accounts.
    • Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities, including rightsizing, auto-scaling, and reserved instances.
    • Leverage AWS-native tools (Cost Explorer, Budgets, Trusted Advisor, cost optimization hub, pricing calculator) and third-party FinOps platforms such as Spot by NetApp.
  • Financial Governance & Compliance
    • Enforce tagging policies, cost allocation rules, and governance standards.
    • Ensure proper cost attribution to teams, products, or business units.
    • Maintain cloud budget controls, alerts, and anomaly detection mechanisms.
  • Automation & Engineering Integration
    • Develop and implement automation scripts for cost monitoring, optimization, and reporting with the help of our DevOps engineers.
    • Integrate FinOps best practices into CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code (IaC) workflows
    • Cross-Team Collaboration & Reporting
  • Stakeholder Engagement & FinOps Culture
  • Educating teams on cloud financial best practices to foster a cost-aware culture.
  • Advocate for efficient resource utilization and operational efficiency.
  • Keep stakeholders updated on AWS pricing changes, new services, and cost management strategies.

 

What makes you the ideal candidate for this role?

 

The following will help you be an ideal candidate for this post:

  • Degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and communication skills.
  • Familiarity with AWS services such as EC2, S3, RDS, FSx, and EFS.
  • AWS and/or FinOps Foundation certifications (preferred).
  • Proficiency in reporting and data analysis.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams
