Work setup: Hybrid (open to 2x a week in the office) 

Work schedule: This role is expected to provide support during UK operating hours, covering both shifts. During BST, the schedule is 11 AM to 7 PM Manila time (3 PM to 11 PM UK time). During GMT, the schedule is 12 PM to 8 PM Manila time (4 PM to 12 AM UK time).

Pay range: Php 60,000 to Php 81,000

We are looking for an Application Engineer (DevOps) to join our Application Engineers Team. As a key member of our team, you are responsible for supporting business application systems for Cambridge University Press and Assessment, running in Cloud platforms, such as AWS and Azure, and On-Premise Linux and Windows Operating Systems.

What will you do as a DevOps Engineer? 

 

 The Application Engineer role is a key contact for significant number of business applications, playing a vital role in Business-As-Usual work, projects, and on-demand tasks within an Agile and DevOps environment. It is an Application Engineer's role to manage scalable and reliable Cloud Infrastructure, implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines to streamline deployment processes while developing infrastructure as code (IaC) for efficient management. The role involves reviewing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and resolving issues in production and non-production systems in a busy data centre environment and Cloud platforms, ensuring adherence to ITIL best practices and industry standards. 

 

What makes you the ideal candidate for this role? 

 

The following will help you be an ideal candidate for this post: 

  • Degree-level education or equivalent experience 
  • 3+ years' experience in Systems Administration or a blended DevOps role 
  • Expertise with AWS Cloud services (CloudFront, EC2, RDS, IAM, VPC, and more) 
  • Proficient in CI/CD tools (Azure DevOps, Bitbucket, Docker) 
  • Hands-on experience with Terraform, CloudFormation, and monitoring tools like CloudWatch 
  • Strong scripting skills in Shell and PowerShell 
  • Knowledge of virtualization, IIS, and Apache Tomcat 
  • AWS Certification preferred
