As an Experience Designer, you'll be the driving force in an innovative team that is always exploring new ways to transform the design of learning and assessment experiences for our customers globally.

We are Cambridge University Press & Assessment, a world-leading academic publisher and assessment organisation and a proud part of the University of Cambridge.

We are trusted by learners, academics and institutions all over the world and this is an exciting opportunity to join a passionate team of experience and service designers helping to make a difference to the people we serve.

About the role

You'll lead on design projects, working alongside colleagues in the Experience & Service Design team and in collaboration with global cross-functional teams. You'll help us to champion customer experience, designing experiences to support the continued development and growth of new and established products and services for the English Product Group.

Additional responsibilities and accountabilities include:

  • initiating, planning and executing design activities to provide deliverables from concept to implementation stages
  • leading user experience research projects, identifying and acting on findings
  • establishing and managing stakeholder relationships to ensure alignment of solutions with business strategies
  • demonstrating a human-centred design approach in all aspects of work
  • contributing to the development of a highly collaborative and effective design team, aligning to and promoting our strategy

This position has been classified as a hybrid role, requiring the selected candidate to typically spend 40-60% of their time collaborating and connecting face-to-face at their dedicated location. Aside from our hybrid principles, other flexible working requests will be considered from the first day of employment, including other work arrangements should you require adjustments due to a disability or long-term health condition.

About You

You enjoy solving design problems, putting the user at the heart of what you do to understand the best way to deliver delightful and intuitive experiences. You're highly collaborative and committed to helping others, with experience in:

  • leading complex experience and service design projects, designing digital solutions
  • effectively organising your time to deliver work to agreed timeframes
  • working with unknowns, making recommendations and decisions to inform experiences
  • clearly presenting and communicating work to cross-functional teams and different levels of seniority
  • building great relationships and managing stakeholders, fostering an inclusive environment that accommodates different working styles

This is an opportunity to join a growing design team where you can learn and develop skills in designing learning and assessment products and services.

  • relevant UX training and certification
  • experience working in distributed and multi-cultural teams
