Job Title: Freight Export Controller

Salary: Competitive

Location: Singapore

Contract: Permanent

Hours: Full Time

Are you an experienced freight and export professional who thrives on keeping international shipments moving smoothly, compliantly and on time across global supply chains?

We are Cambridge University Press & Assessment, a world-leading academic publisher and assessment organisation and a proud part of the University of Cambridge.

About the role

As a Freight Export Controller, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth and compliant movement of goods from printers to warehouses and end customers worldwide. Working within the freight management team, you will coordinate export activity across international supply chains, supporting timely delivery while maintaining high standards of accuracy and compliance.

You will work closely with a wide range of internal teams and external partners, acting as a central point of coordination for export shipments. This is a detail‑focused role where strong organisation, clear communication and the ability to manage multiple priorities will be essential to keeping shipments on track.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Acting as a key liaison between printers, freight forwarders, warehouses and internal stakeholders
  • Managing export documentation and ensuring information is accurate and available ahead of despatch
  • Monitoring shipment progress and proactively identifying and resolving potential delays
  • Supporting financial and compliance processes, including invoice handling and due diligence checks

This position has been classified as a hybrid role, requiring the selected candidate to typically spend 40-60% of their time collaborating and connecting face-to-face at their dedicated location. Aside from our hybrid principles, other flexible working requests will be considered from the first day of employment, including other work arrangements should you require adjustments due to a disability or long-term health condition.

About You

You will bring a proactive and organised approach to your work, understanding the importance of accuracy, compliance and clear coordination in a global logistics environment. You are comfortable working with a wide range of stakeholders and take ownership of tasks to help ensure shipments move smoothly and on time.

You will be confident working with systems, data and documentation, able to manage competing priorities while maintaining attention to detail. Clear communication and a collaborative mindset will help you build effective working relationships both internally and externally.

You will have:

  • Experience managing international import and export logistics activity
  • Knowledge of freight movements across road, air and sea
  • Experience working with export and import documentation, such as commercial invoices and customs entries

If you meet the above minimum requirements, we encourage you to apply. Your application will be even stronger if you can also demonstrate the following desirable criteria:

  • Experience of SAP or other ERP systems
