We are looking for a Senior Full Stack Developer to join our Ecommerce Shared Services Team. As a key member of our team, your main goal is to create and maintain applications that enable our organization to access various educational products online. What will you do as a Software Engineer Full Stack? 

In this role, you'll help build secure, scalable, reusable, and user-friendly solutions for our Cambridge platforms, while sharing your expertise across the organisation. You'll work with a wide range of technologies and collaborate with talented colleagues who share our values and goals. 

Your key responsibilities will include: 

  • Optimising front-end and back-end architectures, improving user interactions, ensuring responsiveness and reliability, and delivering projects from concept to completion.  
  • Contributing to solution design, software specifications, and API enhancements. 
  • Coding, testing, and troubleshooting software; supporting QA, Service Desk, and Infrastructure teams; and working with Solutions Architects to ensure smooth, efficient deployments. 
  • Producing project briefs, proposals, implementation plans, and documentation for existing applications, as well as providing on-call support when required. 
  • Staying up to date with technology trends to drive continuous improvement.

What makes you the ideal candidate for this role? 

The Software Engineer Full Stack should have strong skills in solution design, development, analysis, improvement, and documentation, demonstrated through hands-on experience with web infrastructure, modern DevOps practices, and related software development technologies. 

Ideal candidates will have: 

  • 2–4+ years' experience in software development with web technologies, including Java, REST, SOAP, XML, jQuery, JBOSS, and Apache. 
  • Proficiency in front-end languages (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, TypeScript) and familiarity with frameworks such as Node.js and Vue.js. 
  • Experience with data manipulation, tuning, and performance optimization across databases, including Oracle, MySQL, GraphQL, and NoSQL. 
  • Comfort with industry-standard tools like GIT and Agile development processes (e.g., Scrum). 
  • Experience using AWS services (e.g., CodeCommit, EC2, RDS, EMR, S3, Lambda) is a plus. 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to mentor and support junior or mid-level engineers.
