We are recruiting for a passionate Lead DevOps Engineer who will be part of our Customer Solutions in Core Technology Team in Manila.  The role will play an essential part in improving the quality, reliability and efficiency of our processes (like the creation and maintenance of our environments) in a Cloud environment, through the use of automation, monitoring and metrics gathering. You will also be asked to support and help the development of our Continuous Delivery initiative.

Ideally bringing specialist knowledge in at least one of these areas: CI/CD pipelines, containers, Serverless, security, test automation, you'll enable the DevOps team to achieve even higher standards in these disciplines.

The Manila hub is located in Makati City, operating to support the university's global operations.

You will often deal with the infrastructure design and programming, research, and development of content platform applications. Overall, you will be responsible for delivering the project while leading the team effectively. 

Other key responsibilities will include:

  • Build and manage development, testing and production environments using Infrastructure-as-Code practices
  • Set-up automated deployment pipelines for various systems
  • Work on configuration aspects of automated Continuous Integration process
  • Reporting on systems stability and releases related metrics
  • Define and document system configurations
  • Working closely with Infrastructure Engineers, Developers and QAs to resolve defect/issues
  • Contribute towards ways of improving quality and collaboration

What are the qualifications?

The ideal candidate should have solid software development experience with an aptitude for testing, leadership skills, and community building by participating in COPs/guilds and external software test/developer communities. Actively support the process of integrating SAP Customer Data Cloud with Cambridge platforms. The role-holder will continue to maintain the strategic Cambridge Login application and work as part of the Identity Shared Service team to ensure that the integration support provided meet and exceed expectations.

In addition, experience, knowledge or expertise in the following are an advantage:

  • Java, PHP
  • CMS frameworks (e.g. Drupal, WordPress etc)
  • CSS3 & HTML5
  • JavaScript and related frameworks (e.g. Json, React, Vue.JS or AngularJS, GO, NodeJS)
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to communicate with colleagues of all levels across the Press
  • Continuous integration and Continuous deployment tools such as SVN, Maven, Jenkins, CodeBuild, Bamboo)
