We are seeking a passionate MS Azure Cloud Engineer to be part of the Application Engineers Team, to focus on the support of application systems, running Linux and Windows Operating Systems for the web tier on MS Azure cloud platform.

Your responsibilities as an MS Azure Cloud Engineer:

Working under the supervision of the Manila Team Lead, you will manage and plan for the implementation of Azure projects in the operational/support environments including evaluation, feasibility, technical investigations, proof of concepts, releases, changes, implementation, training, and knowledge transfer to and from other support teams.

You will also be expected to be responsible for: 

  • Day to day provision of second/third line support for technologies, including handling ofIncidents, Service Requests, Problem Records, Change reviews and approvals, team tasks, and security investigations, that the Exam Technology owns within agreed SLAs. Support work will be UK and Philippines hours on shifts schedule. Out of business hours support, on-call, or weekend work, will be expected based on Business Operations demand.
  • Organisation and manage maintenance activities, including deployments, ad-hoc work packages, service improvements and patching of servers, to support business peaks following approved instructions.
  • Be the Application Subject Matter Expert for MS Azure hosted platforms. Produce quality up-to-date in-depth technical documentation, present technical concepts to wider audience at all levels, and conduct knowledge transfer within the team.
  • Build and maintain effective relationships and lines of communication within and with other teams, third party suppliers and the Business Streams to facilitate effective delivery.
  • Guide engineers on the job to help them develop their skill sets and become more effective in their roles.

 

What makes you the ideal candidate for this role?

You will be an ideal candidate if you have strong experience with Automation and MS Azure Cloud Engineering, Architecture or Infrastructure with a minimum of 3 years proven experience in a Systems Admin or DevOps role. Having an understanding of High availability, Traffic Manager, and load balancers in Azure and being an excellent communicator and collaborator with a good customer focus will be highly regarded.

Additionally, having the below knowledge, skills, and experience would also give you an advantage:

  • Strong experience with MS Azure Storage administration such as data security, backup and restore, MS Azure Networking such as managing public and private IPs, maintaining virtual network, and MS Azure Security such as data encryption, Protect accounts and resources against compromise.
  • Experience in Windows Server 2019, 2016 and 2012 
  • Understanding of Patching Windows, Serverless architecture, and Scalesets
  • Certifications in MS Azure administration, Architect design, infrastructure solutions, etc
  • Understanding of Networking, including firewall and load balancers such a Working knowledge of Service Management Processes
  • Automation
