Work setup: We operate in a hybrid work environment, and we encourage applicants who are open to working in the office two days a week to apply.

Work schedule: Monday to Friday, shift would be either 12NN to 8PM Manila time, 3PM to 11PM Manila time, or 4PM to 12MN Manila time to support UK operating requirements.

We are looking for a highly engaged Network Engineer to provide leadership in fulfilling network requests and incident troubleshooting, specializing in the provisioning, implementation, support, and management of Cambridge University Press and Assessment's network infrastructure. The role involves working with the global Network Team to support enterprise-standard technologies, analyze network projects, design network solutions, deliver excellent customer service, and adhere to industry best practices and emerging trends..

What will you do as a Network Engineer? 

Reporting to the Network Operations Team Lead, your accountabilities will include:

  • Create Daily Health Reports; raise, triage, resolve Network tickets and be the escalation point for internal network issues, coordinating resolutions with 3rd party vendors and suppliers.
  • Collaborate across network specialized teams to design, plan, configure, build, optimize, and troubleshoot network infrastructure, ensuring security, resiliency, and performance.
  • Perform knowledge transfers across the Infrastructure Team and mentor junior Network team members.
  • Champion standards for network management and architecture, including auditing, monitoring, security hardening, and capacity planning.
  • Oversee network infrastructure for International and UK offices and Data Centres, ensuring link resiliency, load balancing, and connectivity.
  • Contribute and support the Network Road Map, device patching and life cycle management, and network capacity planning.
  • Promote continuous service improvement and addressing current and future skill gaps through training and development.

  • Firewalls: CISCO CDFMC, CISCO FTD (ASA), CheckPoint
  • LAN/WLAN: CISCO Catalyst 9300, 9200, 3650, 3850; Meraki MS series; WLC, APs
  • Data Center & Load Balancing: Nexus 9K, Nexus 2K; F5 Big-IP (i4600, VE)
  • Monitoring & Network Tools: Solarwinds, CISCO Prime, AlgoSec Firewall Analyzer, InfloBlox
  • Cloud & Security: AWS, Azure, CloudFlare, Guardicore
  • Virtualization & Servers: VMWare, Citrix; Windows, Linux
  • Automation/Scripting: Puppet, Bash, PowerShell, Python, Perl, Ruby, Node.js
  • Telephony & Project Management: MS Teams; JIRA, Confluence
  • Ticketing & Windows Admin: IVANTI Service Management; AD, DNS, DHCP
  • Certifications: CISCO, CheckPoint, F5, AWS, Azure, VMWare, Windows, ITIL, ISO 27001, Agile, Six Sigma (is a plus, hands-on experience and potential for growth is considered.)
