We are seeking a skilled and driven Senior Automation Engineer to join our team and enhance both our infrastructure and collaborative capabilities. In this role, you will lead the development of new infrastructure solutions, driving improvements in system security, efficiency and reliability. You will work across diverse platforms, including Windows, Linux, and Cloud, leveraging your scripting expertise to deliver innovative and impactful automation solutions.

What will you do as a Senior Automation Engineer? 

 

As a Senior Automation Engineer, you will be part of the Infrastructure Security Platform Services team. The Senior Automation Engineer will play a key role to deliver our mission to provide the business tools and services that maintains our security compliance and resiliency.  

 

Your responsibilities will include: 

  • Design and implement automated workflows for patch management, system validation, and monitoring.
  • Develop scripts for infrastructure automation across Windows, Linux, and Cloud platforms.
  • Perform pre- and post-patch health checks, ensuring systems perform optimally.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and stakeholders to design solutions that meet business and operational needs.
  • Share knowledge and mentor team members to support collective growth and learning.
  • Align to UK hours (BST/GMT) 

 

What makes you the ideal candidate for this role? 

 

The following will help you be an ideal candidate for this post: 

  • At least 3 years of experience scripting languages such as Python, PowerShell, Bash or Terraform.
  • Solid Experience with Windows/Linux (RedHat) Administration
  • Proven ability to automate server configuration and installation processes
  • Strong analytical skills with a proactive and curious approach to problem-solving
  • Knowledgeable with CI/CD Implementation 
  • Proficient with Git and Git workflows 
  • Cloud Platforms knowledge (e.g. AWS, Azure)
  • Ability to self organise and work with minimal supervision
  • Familiarity with ITSM tooling, integrations, along with knowledge of compliance reporting.
  • Experience in database patch management, including automation of patching processes for high-availability databases and groups.
