We are looking for a Senior Full Stack Developer to be part of our Customer Solutions team and to deliver solutions in My Cambridge, Cambridge Login and Core Identity. The Senior Full Stack Developer will provide new features and functionalities and collaborate with a team that works efficiently together, in a supportive and rewarding environment. The role involves working with a wide range of stakeholders and will require initiative and excellent verbal and written communication.

What will you do as a Full Stack Developer 

 

As a Senior Full Stack Developer, you will collaborate with product managers, solution leads, stakeholders, and other developers to create solutions and define technical specifications for certain business requirements. You will be responsible for developing and maintaining scalable and high-performance solutions and applications. 

 

Please note that, the role involves working with a wide range of stakeholders, and will require initiative, as well as excellent verbal and written communication. And due to the organisation's geographical diversity, the role will need to be flexible and might need to cover full UK hours.

 

You will also be expected to: 

 

  • Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other developers to define software requirements and technical specifications.
  • Develop and maintain scalable and high-performance solutions and applications.
  • Design, implement and optimize complex solutions, and create and maintain appropriate documentation.
  • Mentor and provide guidance to junior/mid developers, fostering knowledge sharing and skills development
  • Conduct code reviews to maintain code quality and enforce best practices
  • Participate in the agile development process, attending daily stand-ups, sprint planning and retrospectives
  • Attend meetings on an ad-hoc basis to promote the team and the platform.
  • When requested, present topics of interest to the weekly Working Group.
  • Provide 24x7 on-call support on a rotational basis within the team.

 

What makes you the ideal candidate for this role? 

 

As a Senior Full Stack Developer, you will play a crucial role in collaborating and communicating with non-technical stakeholders and meeting the demands of customer facing teams who depend on the service for their own success and targets. You will have the ability to balance a heavy, often complex workload and conflicting priorities.  

 

Having the skills, knowledge, or experience on the below will also be important: 

  • Sound logic and problem-solving skills
  • Java, Python or any OOP language.Strong capability of mentoring and coaching team members.
    • Excellent planning and organisational skills, especially in analysing complex situations and identify root cause quickly and effectively.
    • In-depth experience in the following technical areas (JSON, SQL, Python, React)
    • Practical knowledge of Agile, especially in SCRUM and KANBAN.
    • Technical awareness of ETL and middleware processes.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • AWS or any similar cloud-based platform experience is a plus.
  • Knowledge in SAP-CDC or any similar Identity Access Management service is strongly desirable, but not required.
