Job Title: Senior ML Ops Engineer

Salary: £49,000 - £65,500

Location: Hybrid, working from our offices in Cambridge

Contract: Full time 35 hours per week on a fixed term 18 month contract from hire date

This role is responsible for maintaining and managing the production infrastructure and operations of machine learning applications within the Cambridge English AI department. Following the handover from external contractors, you will ensure system reliability, security compliance, and effective resource management. Your work will focus on establishing robust monitoring, alerting, and deployment processes while supporting the development team with infrastructure and operational needs.

About the role

We are seeking an ML Ops Engineer to oversee the operational management of our machine learning applications and ensure their continued reliability and security. In this role, you will:

• Take ownership of the operational handover from external contractors, including documentation review and knowledge transfer.
• Design and implement cloud infrastructure for ML applications, ensuring scalability and efficiency.
• Develop and maintain automated deployment pipelines to streamline system updates.
• Establish robust monitoring, alerting, and reporting systems for production environments.
• Ensure security compliance and proper data handling in accordance with educational data protection standards.
• Manage infrastructure costs and optimize resource allocation.
• Support the development team by providing infrastructure solutions and troubleshooting issues.
• Implement disaster recovery and backup strategies to maintain business continuity.
• Maintain infrastructure as code practices and ensure clear documentation for future improvements.
