Work setup: We operate in a hybrid work environment, and we encourage applicants who are open to working in the office two days a week to apply. 

Work schedule: 3PM to 11PM Manila time, requiring some flexibility during major incidents or to support shifting schedules.

We are seeking an experienced Senior Security Analyst to join our Manila-based team at Cambridge University Press & Assessment, working UK-aligned hours. In this role, you will lead front-line security operations, investigating and responding to Major and Priority 1 incidents while proactively identifying and mitigating threats to strengthen our global security posture and protect the organisation.

What will you do as a Senior Security Analyst?  

Reporting to the Security Operations Manager, your accountabilities will include:

  • Lead complex L2/L3 security incidents from detection through resolution, coordinating teams and escalating issues when needed.
  • Review incident reports, perform root-cause analysis, and provide recommendations to improve security outcomes.
  • Provide quality reviews of incident investigations and risk assessments to support consistency and accuracy.
  • Identify and lead improvements to incident response processes, security controls, and ways of working.
  • Act as a technical escalation point and coach analysts on complex incidents and investigations.

What makes you the ideal candidate for this role? 

An ideal candidate has the following qualities: 

  • Senior-level Security Operations experience, including independently managing complex L2/L3 security incidents.
  • Strong proficiency with SIEM, EDR, threat intelligence, monitoring, forensic, and security analysis tools.
  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles and modern threat landscapes, including malware, ransomware, phishing, and API-related threats.
  • Experience across the full incident response lifecycle, from detection and analysis through containment, recovery and post-incident review.
  • Experience conducting root-cause analysis and risk assessments, with the ability to critically evaluate findings and identify security gaps.
  • Demonstrated ability to make risk-based decisions and determine appropriate courses of action during complex or ambiguous incidents.
  • Experience mentoring or providing technical guidance to other analysts and acting as an escalation point for complex cases.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical risks, findings and recommendations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
