We are looking for a Software Engineer to join our Manila Academic Technology Team. As a key member of our team, your goal will be to develop and maintain back-end software solutions used in Academic publishing. This role will play an essential part in the support and   development   of   Cambridge   Core   and   its   key   content  and platform applications

What makes you the ideal candidate in this role?

 

 As a Software Engineer, you will play a crucial role in developing and supporting web applications and APIs used internally by teams in Cambridge University Press & Assessment, as well as externally by our partners. You will work closely with other developers in an agile software development environment. 

 

The following will help you be an ideal candidate for this post:

  • You have 1 – 2 years of experience in Java (8+), Spring Framework, and/or Spring Boot
  • Working knowledge of relational and NoSQL database technologies (MySQL, MongoDB)
  • Basic knowledge of UNIX commands
  • Good communication skills to work effectively with both technical and non-technical colleagues
  • Experience using other programming languages such as JavaScript (NodeJS) or Python

Experience in any of the below technologies is a bonus:

  • Docker
  • Kubernetes
  • AWS or other cloud computing platform
  • Event driven programming
