Software Engineer

Work setup: We operate in a hybrid work environment, and we encourage applicants who are open to working in the office two days a week to apply.

Work schedule: Monday to Friday, 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM Manila time, overlaps with UK operating hours

Pay range: We value transparency and want to ensure a good fit for both parties. We encourage applicants who are comfortable within the salary range of Php 62,000 to 84,000 to apply.

We are looking for a passionate Software Engineer to join our Education Technology Development Team. As a key member of our team, the successful applicant will play a key role in creating and developing solutions for platforms used by learners across the globe. The Manila hub is located in Makati City, operating to support the university's global operations.

What will you do as a Software Engineer? 

The successful candidate will be part of a cross-functional and self-managing agile team that creates secure, scalable, reusable, well-designed and user-friendly solutions that allow for collaboration across different parts of the business. Part of the team's goal is to leverage on AI tools and incorporate those in our ways of working.  

• Build and maintain feature-rich web services and applications using best practices (SOLID, DRY)
• Design solutions aligned with architecture and security standards
• Review code and solutions while mastering team tools, including source control, deployment, AI tools, and issue tracking
• Collaborate in a cross-functional Agile team, owning work, contributing to planning, and delivering on time with quality

What makes you the ideal candidate for this role?

You have a solid foundation in software engineering and enjoy solving problems with others. You communicate clearly, value collaboration, and bring curiosity and empathy to your work.

Experience and skills include:

• Strong understanding of software engineering principles (e.g., SOLID, DRY) and the SDLC
• Hands-on development experience (around 2+ years) using C#, .NET, TypeScript, and Angular
• Experience working in Agile teams and familiarity with AI tools and technologies
• Analytical, problem-solving mindset
• Exposure to AWS, CI/CD pipelines, and test-driven development
