 System Administrator (AWS) 

Internal Job Title: System Administrator 

Work setup: We operate in a hybrid work environment, and we encourage applicants who are open to working in the office two days a week to apply. 

Work schedule: Monday to Friday, 3PM to 11PM Manila time, plus additional overlaps with UK operating hours where necessary. 

Employment type: Permanent 

Location: Makati City, Metro Manila 

Pay range: ₱62,000 to ₱84,000

We are looking for an experienced System Administrator to work with a suite of AWS hosted servers and to support a UK-based team of developers and creators. You will create, manage, and monitor servers hosted on AWS to provide the best possible service for our customers.

What will you do as a Systems Administrator 

Reporting to the IT Manager, your accountabilities will include: 

  • Monitoring servers, application containers, and networks hosted on AWS. 
  • Resolving technical issues efficiently and effectively. 
  • Collaborating and sharing knowledge in the Insight IT Team. 
  • Maintaining accurate records of any work/changes you have undertaken. 
  • Collaborating with other departments to find solutions. 
  • Contributing to large-scale projects by ensuring comprehensive reporting, KPI tracking, and effective data communication

What makes you the ideal candidate for this role? 

An ideal candidate has the following qualities: 
Essential: 

  • Strong understanding of core AWS services such as EC2, S3, RDS, VPC, and IAM  
  • Cloud architecture knowledge, including scalable, fault-tolerant design and networking concepts like subnets and routing  
  • Security and compliance expertise, including IAM policies, encryption and security groups. 
  • Performance monitoring and tuning to ensure system health.  
  • Cost optimisation and resource efficiency, identifying underutilised resources and implementing cost-saving best practices.  

Desirable: 

  • Proficiency in Windows and Linux server management and optimisation. 
  • Automation and Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) skills using tools like CloudFormation, AWS CLI, and Terraform 
  • Backup, disaster recovery, and resilience planning, including AWS Backup and multiregional approaches. 
  • Ability to present complex ideas verbally and a strong proficiency with Microsoft Teams.
