We are looking for a XML Developer to join our Content Services Team in Manila. As a key member of our team, your role will play an essential part in developing and maintaining of different XML technologies and scripting tools used for validating, handling, and transforming XML content, and ensuring that the quality of incoming XML content conforms to well-defined standards. The Manila is located in Makati City, operating to support the university's global operations.

What makes you the ideal candidate in this role?


 The ideal candidate should have a strong background on object oriented programming and solid software development experience with an aptitude for testing, leadership skills, and community building by participating in COPs/guilds and external software test/developer communities.


In addition, experience, knowledge or expertise in the following would give you an advantage:

  • At least 2 years of working experience in the related fields is required for the position, typically requires bachelor's degree or equivalent and ideally have publishing or typesetting experience
  • Excellent knowledge of XML, XSLT, and mapping of different schemas; strong knowledge of Schematron, XPath and XQuery
  • Good understanding of Java, Apache ANT, UNIX and other scripting languages like Javascript, Python, Perl, Bash, etc., are highly desirable
  • Adequate experience working with application such as MathML, MathJAX and comfortable working with Windows and Linux platforms
  • Familiarity with some or all of the following: JIRA, Subversion, Git/GitLab/GitLab CI (YAML), AGILE software development techniques
