Location: Cambridge/Hybrid (minimum 2 days in the office)

Global Communications and PR Executive, to support the efficient delivery of PR, thought leadership, research and impact communications activities to drive brand recognition and build commercial value for the English Product Group & wide Cambridge organisation.

About the role

The team's purpose is to increase awareness of Cambridge products, propositions and services for key decision makers, teachers and learners of English. We ensure that all relevant insights, academic research, impact and recognition outcomes are developed into compelling and accessible stories and messages that will engage audiences, to deliver maximum audience impact and influence on decision makers.

We exist to develop our public position as experts in language teaching, learning and assessment, which helps us to compete for new business outside our traditional sectors and markets, particularly in countries where we are currently not well known.

The role will be working closely with the Senior Global PR and Communications Manager, covering a wide range of activities thought leadership activities, news gathering, storytelling, conversion of academic research to accessible content, monitoring media coverage across markets. The role will also be tasked with the updating and monitoring of the PR tracker, editorial calendars, media mailings, etc.

The postholder will be creating content for public relations and will support converting academic research and impact studies findings into accessible content. The postholder also handles the research, drafting, and distribution of pitch documents and press releases. They will additionally build, maintain, and organise internal lists of social and media influencers that the Global PR team should take interest in and engage.  The role will ensure that KPIs and metrics are tracked and met, to provide a comprehensive evaluation on all PR activities.

 

About you

You'll have experience of working in a communications role and have previous copywriting experience. You'll be highly organised and detail-oriented, and able to juggle multiple deadlines. You'll be a self-starter and take the initiative and work independently, identifying what needs to be done.

You will have exceptionally good communication skills in both written and verbal form in order to clearly and concisely convey the business/product's messages and to depict the business in the highest standard possible.  Having a flexible approach to work is key to this role, and you will have excellent relationship management skills as you'll be collaborating with colleagues across the business, as well as journalists and media contacts.

You will also have previous experience in using digital communications channels and running successful digital and/or social media channels and campaigns.
