Job Title: Legacy Press Admin Assistant

Salary: £22,200 - £26,400

Location: Cambridge (min. 3-4 days onsite)

Contract: Fixed Term, Full time 35 hours per week

 

We are Cambridge University Press & Assessment, a world-leading academic publisher and assessment organisation and a proud part of the University of Cambridge.

Are you highly organised with an eye for detail? Join us as a Legacy Press Admin Assistant in the Academic Books department. Based in Cambridge, you will play a vital role in supporting the efficient management and preservation of legacy Press files, ensuring that materials are accurately catalogued and maintained for long-term research . 

Please note that this position is for a fixed term contract until Dec 19th 2025.


About the role 

In this role as Legacy Press Admin Assistant, your responsibilities will be to: 

  • Conduct office administration tasks, including cataloguing information, processing file transfers, and updating records.
  • Undertake document preservation duties, such as physical scanning and digitizing materials for long-term storage.
  • Provide support for policy meetings, including minute-taking and maintaining documentation.
  • Act as a key point of contact for colleagues and stakeholders with queries about legacy Press holdings and processes.


Training will be provided to support you in digitisation processes and retention evaluation. 


About You

  • You will be organised and detail-oriented with prior administrative experience, preferably in an archive, library, or corporate information management environment.
  • Tech-savvy, with advanced skills in Microsoft Office and a strong aptitude for learning new systems.
  • You will be a great communicator, able to collaborate effectively with colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Interested in history and publishing, appreciating the value of preserving  
  • Familiarity and knowledge of GDPR, Data Protection, and Freedom of Information legislation.

We are a hybrid working organisation, and we offer a range of flexible working options from day one. However, this position requires onsite presence for at least 3-4 days per week due to the physical processing and document handling accountabilities.
