We are Cambridge University Press & Assessment, a world-leading academic publisher and assessment organisation and a proud part of the University of Cambridge.

About the role

This is an exciting time to join our Academic Publishing team as we increase the range and output of our products, both in print and via digital platforms.

You will be responsible for defined areas of our Computer Science portfolio.  Based on curriculum analysis and feedback from the computer science community, especially in North America, you will:

  • Manage a list in the areas designated.

About you

As our next Publisher, you will have prior commissioning experience. Experience of acquiring and publishing digital products is desirable. Outstanding organisational, planning and communication skills with a passion for science are essential.

You should be able to demonstrate:

  • previous experience in commissioning STM products, including HE.
  • commercial and market-oriented focus with the ability to grasp publishing finance.
  • exceptional communication and networking skills and experience, with the ability to build effective relationships with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
  • eagerness to travel and meet leading computer scientists at institutions and conferences worldwide.
  • understanding of the priorities and expectations of academic authors.
  • outstanding planning and organisational skills.

If you would like to know more about this opportunity and what will make you successful, please see the full job description attached to the bottom of this vacancy on our careers site.

  • 28 days annual leave plus bank holidays
  • Private medical and Permanent Health Insurance
  • Discretionary annual bonus
  • Group personal pension scheme

We are a hybrid working organisation, and we offer a range of flexible working options from day one. We expect most hybrid-working colleagues to spend 40-60% of their time at their dedicated office or location. We will also consider other work arrangements if you wish to work more flexibly or require adjustments due to a disability.
