This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced IT Quality Assurance and Test Lead to join a passionate and fast-paced Exam Technology department.

About the role 

As the QAT Lead, you will play a key role in leading, shaping, and delivering the QA testing strategy and quality assurance practices in the Exam Assurance team, making a real difference to the software/application quality, assurance and test principles and standards for each product, service, platform and Operational IT delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategy & Leadership: Lead high-stakes software QAT strategies and practices across the Exam Technology Organisation (ETO). Lead continuous improvement and industry recognized best practice.

Stakeholder Collaboration: Build trusted relationships with senior leaders and customers to align QA practices with business needs.

Innovation Initiatives: Drive Shift-Left Testing, Test Automation, and AWS Cloud migration projects. Embed agility and innovation.

Supplier Management: Oversee third-party QA providers, ensuring contract standards and value for money.

Team Development: Manage and mentor the ETO QA virtual Chapter, fostering skills growth.

Governance & Compliance: Conduct Test Quality Audits and ensure adherence to ISO27001 and GDPR standards.

About you

We are looking for an experienced Quality Assurance and Test Lead who can bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise to our team. You are a strategic and collaborative leader with a passion for excellence.  

You will be proficient in procuring, setting up, and overseeing test tools for reporting, automation, performance, and device/browser compatibility testing. Familiarity with tools such as Selenium, BitBucket, JMeter, Blazemeter, SauceLabs, Mailosaur, and Azure is essential.

Key skills and experience: 

  • ITIL Framework:Knowledge of ITIL framework or other IT Service Management methodologies, with over 5 years of experience in environments based on these processes.
  • Quality Management:Proven experience in delivering quality management frameworks and systems. Experience in IT delivery and QAT consultancy, with over 5 years of experience in a variety of sectors.
  • Risk Management:Expertise in risk management, risk identification, and risk-based testing, with the ability to continuously assess and articulate risks in IT solutions.
  • Testing Tools:Strong background in the use and implementation of both Functional and Non-Functional test tools, techniques, principles, and methodologies in agile and waterfall delivery. Up to date with the latest QAT technologies and methods.
