Job Title: Senior Research Integrity Advisor 

Salary: £42,000 - £56,800 

Location: Cambridge, Hybrid 

Contract: Permanent, Full Time, 35 Hours Per Week

We are seeking a Senior Research Integrity Advisor to lead initiatives that uphold and enhance research integrity and publication ethics across Cambridge's academic publishing portfolio (books, Elements, preprints, and journals).  
 

This pivotal role supports the Head of Publication Ethics and Research Integrity by developing policies, resources, strategies, and practices, investigating ethics cases, and driving continuous improvement. You'll be part of the growing Publishing Ethics and Research Integrity team and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure best practices in research integrity.  

About the role   

As the Senior Research Integrity Advisor, you will: 

• Define and lead projects and initiatives to drive best practices in research integrity and publication ethics. 

• Conduct and oversee the investigation and resolution of publication ethics cases and provide day to day support and mentorship for the Research Integrity Advisors. 

• Drive publishing and operational quality through collaboration with editorial, production, peer review and digital teams, while identifying opportunities for innovation or improvements. 

• Represent Cambridge at industry forums, driving thought leadership and external engagement in research integrity. 

About you 

You are an experienced professional with a passion for research integrity and academic publishing. Your expertise includes: 
 

• Broad experience in managing research and publication integrity cases, and policy development. 

• Up-to-date and extensive knowledge of the research integrity landscape, including tools and technology, best practice guidelines and frameworks, and topical issues. 

• In-depth knowledge of scholarly publishing standards, journal systems, and peer review workflows 

• Proven project management skills with the ability to lead cross-functional initiatives. 

• Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills, including strong data literacy. 

• A collaborative mindset, balanced with assertiveness and diplomacy. 

• Academic research experience, ideally to PhD or postdoc level. Although not a requirement, we are looking to complement the existing expertise of the Publication Ethics and Research Integrity team (which is currently biomedical sciences, earth and environmental sciences, and ecology).
